Becky + Nik’s Dramatic & Romantic Dried Flower Beach Wedding

Becky and Nik came to us with such a fun and interesting project. They were getting married on the beach and they wanted it to be wild and romantic, but cool and edgy. They wanted touches of pampas, blue colours, gold and all the dried flowers that went with that theme. These two are a couple of proper cool cats and the flowers we created needed to complement their look. So, we went for a dramatic combination of pampas against the soft and pretty hand dried pale blue gypsophila. We spray painted the palm leaves and ruscus in a matte gold and incorporated lots of navy blue touches to darken the look and add some edge.

Why did you choose dried flowers for your wedding?

We wanted natural and blue colours, we wanted flowers and leaves that moved with the breeze, and we wanted it all to tie in with nature as you never see fresh flowers on a beach.

Can you describe the look you went for?

At Woolacombe, the main attraction is the beach so we knew we need our flowers to compliment the beach and the ocean, we wanted to keep it natural, yet be dramatic, on the photos.

What impact did your Horseshoe flowers have?

Horseshoe flowers achieved everything we asked for, we got the subtleties of the delicate flowers and we got the impact of the bouquet on our photos.

Where is your bouquet now?

On the fire place in our living room, as there was no way was it being put back in a box and being forgotten about.

What advice would you give to brides thinking about a dried flower look?

Order them! With more choices of colours you get more personalised flowers for your big day and you get to keep them.

Not only was Becky a joy to work with but we loved max-ing up her Mom’s beautiful facinator to match back to her daughters’ flowers.

The flowers really complemented the whole look, with a drama and romance that was amazingly captured through their stunning photos from photographer Joanna Robb https://www.sonderwest.com/. Loved the combination of the beaded romantic dress against the couples tattoos, the men’s Peaky Blider’s inspired suits (well these guys are from the midlands!) and Becky’s box-fresh trainers. This couple are the epitome of cool, did you even see the bride’s amazing hairbraids?! OBSESSED.

Becky and Nik’s Wedding was a stylistic dream, thrilled to share it with you!
