Horseshoe Flowers has been based in Derbyshire for its entire life. We’ve been going for almost five years and in that time we have gone from working out of our living room, to our spare room and finally we made our way to the wonderful Haarlem Artspace in Wirksworth. We’ve been here now for three years and absolutely love working in such an amazing place.

Haarlem artspace is a wonderful community of incredible creatives all housed together in a 18th century historical grade II listed mill. The mills are based in the beautiful Derbyshire dales countryside in Wirksworth which in its self is a melting pot for artists and creatives. So, we are nestled amongst so many inspirational people!

Every day I get to work among writers, painters, ceramicists, jewellers and many others. I definitely count myself as being incredibly lucky!

Next to our artspace mill is the wonderful wedding venue Haarlem Mills Wedding and Events where we create the flowers for some of our lovely couples. Across the way is Haarlem Bridal where Astra is creating bespoke wedding gowns for her brides as well as lighting company Curiousa & Curiousa. We are so lucky to work with all these creatives and wedding professionals.

If you are planning a bespoke floral wedding service from us, you are so welcome to come by the studio and meet with us, talk through your ideas and look at the huge array of dried and preserved flowers that we have in stock.

During our consultation we can gather flowers and foliage to create your colour palette and concept in real time.

I completely love my little studio, it’s a place I can really enjoy being in, creating all your gorgeous flowers, with beautiful views out of the window. I have a perfect little workbench, high stools to sit at and a little area for sit and chat all things floral with Mary who has just joined our team, or clients when they are visiting.

I even have a whole pink painted wall that is dedicated for taking photos of our work. I love to share snaps and videos of what we create on Instagram almost like a diary of what I’m up to.

It’s a far cry from kneeling on the floor in my living room, counting out stems and beginning my floral journey! I’m pretty proud of where I’ve got to… can’t wait to show you more as my business continues to develop and grow!
