4 Different Boho Ways to Style Stretton Manor Barn
We absolutely love creating floral dreams at Stretton Manor Barn. We’ve created lots of different weddings at this venue but one style always really stands out as working so perfectly with the space so we wanted to write a blog to show you a few different ways you can create this look. It’s the perfect venue to go for a little bit of boho romance as there are so many beautiful parts of this venue that complement the colour and style of a boho wedding. All of the following styles create a stunning ceremony space with flowers and styling details that can then be used again later in the day, making the most our of all your wedding flowers. This kind of wedding floral style really makes the most out of all the features of this gorgeous venue.
The venue
Stretton Manor Barn is situated in the middle of beautiful countryside not far from Derby, Sheffield and Chesterfield. It is the perfect location for couples living in the East Midlands who want to get married close to home or for couples living further field that want to have a centrally located venue that’s easy for all their UK guests to get to.
Arriving down a little gravel driveway you turn onto the estate and see this beautiful barn on your right side. The barn itself is a perfect mix of rustic vibes but with everything looking and feeling modern and fresh. Beautiful details like exposed stonework, wood and beams in the ceiling and then lots of glazing opening out onto lovely countryside views. Weather permitting you can have your ceremony outside but if the heavens open, your wedding will be just as lovely inside. The space is really warm and inviting and the size of this venue is perfect for an average size wedding- not too big and not too small. As there are so many lovely features within the space, it’s really easy to make this space look really stunning with a few choice floral arrangements. The venue also has its own large oak arch which can either be placed outside or kept inside at one side of the barn at the end of the aisle. This arch makes the perfect backdrop for your ceremony.
Eucalyptus, dried flowers & pampas grass wedding
This really is a winning combination you can’t go wrong with mixing up beautiful preserved eucalyptus foliage with ivory dried flowers and then lots of lovely natural toned pampas grass. The pampas grass really makes this have a really lovely bohemian vibe, but the white dried grasses really complement and add a lovely lightness. This is a really lovely combination.
For this wedding we created a large arrangement for the archway at the end of the aisle as well as two large floor pieces. Grace from Rustic Rose styled the arch with some lovely fabric draping which amplified the whole experience. This arch arrangement was a large floral display so it was very focal piece which looks really special in this venue. The archway then sits behind the top table after the ceremony and then again on the dance floor so you get lots of use out of this arrangement piece during your wedding day.
At the foot of the arch we placed two large floor standing arrangements with tall pampas grasses. This gave the arch a really opulent floral look. The registrars table at the side of the aisle had a small arrangement with some lovely styling from Rustic Rose- fabric, candles and place settings.
We had an abundance of bud vases which we used down the aisle first for the ceremony along with some lanterns and candles, and then these were moved to the wedding breakfast tables later in the day, again making great use out of all your flowers.
Finally we created two arrangements for the welcome area which sat on the floor along with candles and lanterns beneath the wedding sign welcoming the guests. One of these arrangements was smaller than the other and it was later moved to the bar area.
This is a super romantic and dramatic floral concept for this gorgeous wedding venue.

Moody and dark autumnal vibes Boho wedding
For this gorgeous wedding we wanted to incorporate some colour to the boho style concept with lots of deeper and more dramatic tones. The couple wanted an autumnal colour palette with dark navy incorporated. The main focus of colour was navy blue with touches of rust and orange- we were going for a dark celestial kind of vibe for this wedding. Once again we styled up the arch with one large arrangement on one corner, some navy blue fabric draping and then used some of the bud vases at the foot of the registrars table on the left to really amp up the floral look. This is just a really good way of amplifying our look for the ceremony space using the bud vases that we had available to us- these were then used again on the wedding breakfast long banquet tables for the reception.
We had one additional smaller centrepiece on the centre of the registrars table that doubled up as the top table centrepiece. This along with the bud vases and fabric drapery created a beautiful space for the couple to sign their legal papers.
This floral concept was a beautiful colour palette with lots of dark navy, natural pampas grasses and all the drama of a boho vibe but with a little bit of a cool unexpected colour palette.
Fluffy pampas white and natural toned wedding
For this wedding we wanted an all white look so lots of different tones of white and Ivory with natural pampas grass. This floral concept was the height of romance with a very pale and soft colour palette which worked beautifully with the natural stone colours of this venue.
We styled up the archway for the ceremony space with one large arrangement on the top corner that had lashings of long stems of pampas grass as well as large palm leaves and lots of gorgeous bleached white flowers and grasses. We had two large arrangements that sat on the floor either side of the arch to make this arch installation really dramatic. We hung white cheesecloth fabric and little tea lights that the couple purchased making a really romantic and emotional end of aisle. The registrar table to the left had another table centrepiece with fabric draping, a few bud vases and candles to complement the archway.
We used little bud vases in groups all down the aisle next to styling items such as candles and white sand, from The Secret Bridesmaid.
For this wedding, we also created two stunning floral broken arches outside the venue. These were two installation pieces that were attached to the existing wooden structure to create a beautiful entrance way and give the guests an idea of what was to be expected inside the venue. These floral towers also created a beautiful backdrop for photography when the couple were leaving the building once married.
Pastel toned pampas grass wedding
This was a vey pretty take on the classic boho wedding- we had all the usual components such as long pampas grasses and lots of natural tones but we added an array of beautiful soft pastel tones into the mix. There were pale peachy pink preserved hydrangea, pink gypsophila, sage green grasses and lilac touches, all alongside moments of green eucalyptus. It really was a stunning combination that also hit all the boho notes along the way.
We styled up the beautiful oak arch with one large impactful floral arrangement with lots of pampas grass and palm leaves. We added some white cheesecloth fabric drapery to amp up the whole vibe and then used a few of our little bud vase arrangements to add more to the ceremony space. We placed them on the registrars table, along with some fabric drapery and at the foot table where the fabric hits the ground. These bud vases were, of course, used later in the day on the banquet tables, to get the most out of each arrangement.
