5 things to do with your dried wedding flowers after the wedding

The most common comment I get from couples about why they wanted to choose dried flowers for their wedding, is that they wanted to keep the flowers.

So, that got me thinking… yes, of course that is THE best part about choosing dried wedding flowers, but there are loads of things you can use your flowers for to make them that bit extra sustainable and make those reasons even more important.

  1. Decorate your home

An obvious one, that one. But its true- you can decorate your home with the flowers. Gaze longing over at your bridal bouquet for YEARS, yes, years!

How sad is it to start your married life with a lot of expensive dead fresh flowers. Well, if you choose dried and preserved flowers you don’t need to have that concern. You can enjoy them for long long after the wedding all over your home.

2. Gift them to friends and family

We often talk to our couples about how wonderful it is to be able to gift the bridemaids a special memento of the day with their bridesmaids bouquets. But, you can also gift other parts of your floral collection to other members of your family and friends.

Table decor for the Mother-In_Law (get good brownie points!)?

Floor standing arrangements for the parents of the bride?

Welcome sign arrangement for the Best Man? You know he and his missus want that!

3. Use the flowers again for a special event

With flowers this beautiful, there’s no need to only use them once!

Re-use your flowers for a special 40th birthday celebration or a baby shower. Imagine how insane your party will be with all these gorgeous flowers everywhere!

4. Donate your dried flowers to charity

With an array of gorgeous flowers, you might find you just have too many to put around your home or gift to someone special. Why not take any additional flowers down to a local old peoples home or give them to a local charitable organisation to brighten their offices?

5. Take apart your bouquet and re-make it into something else

Finally, if you are looking to reuse your flowers, you could take some of them apart and remake them into something else? Perhaps you fancied a dried flower wreath to brighten your hearth, simply take the bouquet apart, separate the stems into little groupings of three or four varieties, fasten them together with a little wire, cut the stems down and attach them around a wicker frame. Finish with ribbons and voila, you have yourself a brand new, beautiful dried flower wreath.
